I have heard all these names that you list, as being associated with spankings. Of course this is just in the English language. Chross the renowned 'spankologist'. lists the International version. on his blog.

Not if you were in the navy. It meant being bent over a cannon and being whipped. It was reserved for midshipmen - the crew were flogged. So to kiss the gunner's daughter meant trouble.
